Unit Circle

The image below shows the first quadrant of the unit circle. The angles on the unit circle are related to the 30,  60, 90 and 45, 45, 90 special right triangles. It is important to keep in mind that the unit circle has a radius of one. In the unit circle, the 30 degree and the 60 degree angles are related to the 30, 60, 90 special right triangles. We need to find the sides of the triangle. In the 30 degree triangle, the hypotenuse is equal to one, the x side is equal  to root three over two and the y side is equal to one half. We can find the sides of the triangle by using the rules for special right triangles. This triangle is related to the unit circle because we can find the ordered pairs by using the unit circle.   In the 45, 45, 90 special right triangle, the hypotenuse is equal to one, and the sides are both root two over two. Special right triangles and the unit circle are related because the angles match up to their respective special right triangle.
